Years of performing in New York City clubs and touring internationally have honed a natural ability that brings Elizabeth Ziman’s colorful imagination, smart lyrics and catchy melodies to life -- a testament to why this singer-songwriter, who performs as Elizabeth and the Catapult, is often found collaborating -- most recently with Sara Bareilles on Apple TV's "Little Voice" and with Paul Brill on award winning documentaries.
Elizabeth and the Catapult's fifth studio album was born out of a need during the pandemic shut down to cope with the breakdown of communication. It was recorded in her living room during quarantine and is her first fully self-produced album.
sincerely, e is a comforting salve - to soothe and nourish listeners and lovers of music - after a most confusing and emotional year. sincerely, e was released March 2021 to great critical acclaim.
Matt Sucich writes songs mostly with a pen and sings them always with his mouth. His last name is pronounced Sue.Sitch.
“Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself” is the follow up to Matt’s 2019 LP, “Thousand Dollar Dinners” and although inarguably steeped in the events of the past year, is not what some might refer to as a “quarantine record.” Tracked over the summer of 2020 at The Creamery Studio in Brooklyn, NY, with co-producer and engineer, Jeff Fettig, and with overdubs from long-time collaborators, friends, and bandmates (including a special appearance from Adam Duritz of Counting Crows,) “Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself” finds Sucich’s lyrics front-and-center in a mostly hushed production. From the storytelling of the opening track “Make Peace,” to the vignettes of album closer, “New Normal,” Sucich tells personal stories in a universal light.
In addition to countless local NYC performances, Matt has appeared at Willie Nelson’s Heartbreaker Banquet in Luck, TX, Firefly Music Festival in Dover, DE, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, TN and Newport Folk Festival in Newport, RI. Matt has also shared the stage with The Lone Bellow, Lucius, Rachael Yamagata, Lake Street Dive, Levon Helm and many others.
It’s possible you’ve heard Matt Sucich on the radio on New York’s WFUV, Philadelphia’s WXPN, San Francisco’s KFOG, and Nashville’s Lightning 100. Or maybe Matt’s 2016 single “Montauk,” a favorite of the ever mysterious Spotify algorithm, came up on your weekly playlist…or maybe not. Either way you’re here now, so thanks.
