Rob Sanzone is an eclectic multi-instrumentalist, heart-on-the-sleeve singer/songwriter
drawing inspiration from a deep love of classic cinematic horror/sci fi films that collide with David Byrne/Randy Newman-like introspection and Tom Waits experimental tomfoolery. Sanzone’s songwriting leans into pulling back the cover to see what’s underneath, often revealing honest and emotionally sincere reflections of love, loss, darkness and light. He has released two singles on Deep Red Records with producer Alex Vazquez and has more songs in the works.
For 10 years running and still going strong, Rob, alongside his musical brother Chris Merenda, has been a co-captain driving force behind Berkshire country’s infamous bluegrass/punk band The Picky Bastards. In his solo career he has been stoked to open for Greg Ginn (Black Flag), Jeff Lang, Hamell on Trial, Joe MacMahon (Smoke of Fire) and Todd Mack all artists Sanzone carries a deep respect for.
On Saturday night, July 23rd at The Barn, Rob Sanzone will be debuting new originals and eclectic covers live on stage with a band featuring the likes of heavy hitters Joe Rose (keys), Brian Kantor (drums) and Dave Christopolis (Bass) and Tyler Gasek (Sax). Come out, dance and feel alive.
